Loretta Caponi inaugurates a space devoted to kidswear

Loretta Caponi presents a newly renovated atelier; complete with a space devoted to kidswear and a brand new collection.

Dring Pitti Bimbo 88, Loretta Caponi, a Florentine brand and symbol of true craftsmanship  presents the Autumn/Winter 19/20 collection. This wonderful new atelier has been created and renovated by Duccio Conti Caponi Studio and dedicates a space to entirely kidswear.   It  is  an  extraordinary  environment  that  combines  artistic  prowess  with  a  refreshing  and  daily modernity; the furniture of the Salone Centrale has been redesigned to include a living room complete with a frescoed fireplace by Francesca Guicciardini. This leads to a beautiful court garden setting, where each small piece is made and created with care and detail, creating a very unique atmosphere.    The concept of a 'cocoon' was the inspiration to design many beautiful items not only focused on wardrobe but all aspects associated with it; blankets, covers, pillows, plaid, pajamas & nightgowns, crib sets, sponges, bathrobes and bibs, which incorporates a family lifestyle based around sleep, the table and bath time.   For this special occasion, Loretta Caponi herself says there isn’t any ‘secret' but wishes to reveal and share the process of creation for this collection. Her sketches are hand designed and her exquisite embroideries have become a signature of the brand.  'To let children grow surrounded by beautiful things - says Lucia Caponi (creative director of the brand) can be considered almost as a form of education. They are the princes and the princesses of our  houses;  it is  important  to  pay  them  attention  and  allow them to maintain a tender  look. The kidswear  collection  represents  our  spirit  and  a  desire  to  live  alongside  handicraft  wisdom,  whilst infusing it with the notion of play, joyfulness and lightness.'  For boys we have dedicated certain imagery to the ' Robot Family ' and the adventures of ‘Tobia the Puppy’, whilst for the girls, dresses decorated with sweets, fruit & tales of ‘Mary the Kitten’. For both of these we have used exclusively Italian fabrics, selected with care to be soft as a caress; cotton piquet, linen, wool, cashmere, flannel and cotton sponge, on which, as elegantly as if they were pages of a fairytale, Lucia Caponi draws her embroidered tales. With such tenderness that a child really deserves.
