Lineapiù at Pitti Filati 84

In keeping with the tradition of each new season, Lineapiù Italia  unveiled thee new Spring/Summer 2020 collections over the course of Pitti Filati 84 scheduled from 23 to 25 January at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.
It is here that historical laces of every kindrecently presented at the inauguration of the new Sala dei Rari [Room of Rarities] at the Archivio Storico Lineapiù – find the occasion for expressing their ability to inspire the research and creativity of tomorrow.
The themes of preparing and developing stitches used in the presentation of the new Lineapiù and Filclass yarn collections highlight the relationship between modernity and history, like a constant dialogue between mirrored surfaces and “knit laces”.
The collections - Textured materials, rare fibers, and unusual stitch designs once again make the stand of Lineapiù Italia the center of knit creativity.
Techniques explore materials rich in allure like paper, almost testing technology’s limits in creating yarns that will have advanced structures without sacrificing a crafted look and spirit.
Paper is no longer merely a support for artworks, it is an integral part of the creative process and an essential tool for developing knit stitches that express tradition and contemporaneity. Paper is in the composition of yarn or even in the look, with yarns resembling lines for writing new knit fashion pages.
The structure of the yarn expands to allow for a different and multiple representation of color, to guarantee a different perception of yarn on skin: with a crisp disposition.
The yarns of these times are WASHI, viscose combined with paper-cloth to become an innovative and fine raffia with a natural look; RATTAN, a paper-and-cotton chain with a slightly crisp hand for stitches that imitate basket weaves.
A special mention for the new TULLE yarn: a real lace ribbon with minute twists, where ultrathin cotton threads create a micro-net resembling handmade filet lace.
Modernity is also expressed by the nature-science pair – science with techno-natural yarns that combine very different fiberssuch as linen and nylon tactel or cotton and polyurethanecreating innovative structures and surfaces with a slightly artificial look balanced by modern elegance.
FLUO PAPIER is a cotton ribbon yarn with decorative splashes of fluorescent colorslike super-saturated tie-dyeing.
In viscose yarns, Lineapiù has always found a privileged ground for experimentation where fashion and technology meet up. Viscose as interactive digital works of art: shiny viscose yarns explore the potential of light and become refractive mirrors that model luminosity and proportions.
This is the case of ANGIE LUX, a stretchy viscose crêpe with a delicate sheenan essential touch for sinuous, sensuality- and comfort-enhancing knits.
Viscose crêpes and summer velvets shape clothes like design items created to arouse new types of emotions and experiences through a different surface feel.
